About The Vision Charity
Vision Charity was created in 1975 and celebrates nearly 40 years of fundraising for the benefit of blind and partially sighted children. Its foundation was the professional and corporate radio and television industries but since then it has broadened its reach beyond the Visual Communications Industries.
Our Mission is to inject fun and stimulation into the lives of the blind and partially sighted children and their families. We have succeeded in doing this through the support of our ever expanding support base of corporate, celebrity and individual sponsors. Our board is representative of the worlds of broadcast, finance, private equity, venture capital, fashion retail, PR and Marketing.
We maintain very close links with many other professional organisations including the Royal National Institute for Blind People, Sense, The Royal London Society for the Blind, The Royal National College – Hereford, Autism Independent, Dyslexia Action, New College, Worcester, Blind in Business and many other well qualified organisations.
We actively work with all of our Patrons.
Our primary aim is to raise money to provide access to facilities and equipment for our blind and partially sighted children. We have donated equipment including Mini buses, Sensory rooms, computer equipment, playground equipment, as well as holiday and weekend breaks for these children and their families over the alst 40 years. Making life easier for this community is our credo and there are always more opportunities we can explore.
The management of Vision Charity is through volunteers, working closely with our colleagues in VICTA.
