Vision Charity Parachute Jump

18th June 2011

Vision supporters yet again rose to the challenge and took to the skies.

Over 30 people braved the skies to jump for charity.  They raised an impressive amount for the charity and had a super day out.  Many were very nervous at the outset but on landing were euphoric saying that they would go straight up again if the could.  A huge thank you to all the individuals and companies who took part.

Kerry who has always been very afraid of heights did this jump solely to support the children we fund. Her wonderful boy, Max,  who was a beneficiary of Vision was there to support his mum.

She raised a huge amount and once back on terra firma was shaking like a leaf and, in very good humour, confirmed that it had done nothing to deal with her fear of heights.

Very well done Kerry and Max.

Details and photos of the 2010 event will be uploaded shortly

Would you fall for Vision? We will have more parachute days soon.

If you have ever wanted to do a parachute jump here is your chance. Vision Charity are looking for hundreds of adventurous volunteers to make a fundraising parachute jump and if you raise enough in sponsorship you will get to jump for free.

Vision Charity is a registered charity raising funds through a range of exciting events, to help improve the lives of blind, visually impaired and dyslexic children. Monies raised are used to fund a variety of projects from minibuses and specialist equipment to holidays and research. Vision is enabling children throughout the UK and beyond.
There are three types of jump available – an ‘Accelerated FreeFall’ where you can experience the thrill of skydiving solo from up to 12,000 feet, a ‘Tandem Skydive’ from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor and a ‘Static Line’ jump which is performed solo from up to 3,000 feet . You can jump on a day that suites you from any one of over twenty British Parachute Association approved airfields across the UK. No experience is necessary as all training is given and if you raise from £395 (depending on the type of jump you choose) you will receive your jump for free.
Alternatively you can take part in the Vision Charity Parachute Jump event on 6th June 2010. A team of volunteers will be carrying out Tandem Skydives throughout the day at Brackley Air Field (just North of Oxford). Why not get a group of friends, colleagues or attempt the challenge alone and support vision through your sponsorship efforts.
So if you would like to take part in our jump event or make a thrilling skydive independently give Jemma Bailey a call at the office on 020 7287 4261 or email jemma.bailey@visioncharity.co.uk – we will send you a full information pack and everything you need to take part in the experience of a lifetime.
