Awards Presented to first Sony Schools Radio Winners
The winners of the first ever Sony Radio Award for Schools, and initiative of Vision Charity, were announced by Ed Balls, the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Managing Director of Sony United Kingdom, Steve Dowdle at the Vision Ball in December of 2008 - but the winners have had to wait until February to receive their prizes!
Three lucky students were invited to a memorable lunch and presentation at Sony headquarters in Weybridge, Surrey.
Visionary Award goes to Charity Founder
Visionary Award 2008 goes to Vision Charity Founder Peter Thomson who has been an inspiration to many of us and has demonstrated a dogged determination to make a difference having forged many valuable liaison with the blind, visually impaired and dyslexic community as well as raising millions of pounds for the blind, visually impaired and dyslexic children we support.
Venue for Vision's next function wins Best Restaurant award.

The competition to be one of London's favourite restaurants and bars has become a hotly contested ticket. The awards themselves attracted some 600,000 votes. Gail Ganny (far left of picture), owner of San Carlo, was delighted to be recognised in this way and thrilled to be presented the award by Jean-Christophe Novelli.
